Do you think you or your beloved one may suffer a bladder tumor? For this, we must understand the symptoms and, in any case, these symptoms may indicate the presence of another condition that does not necessarily have to be cancer. So, let’s talk about those symptoms.
Bladder cancer symptoms
One of the symptoms – although not much less definitive – is usually the presence of blood in the urine, which is known as hematuria. In these cases, the urine will take different colors that can vary from a slight orange-yellow to a darker red, depending on the amount of blood. Or, the urine can also have a normal color but we detect small amounts of blood inside (for example, during an analysis).

On the other hand, bladder cancer tends to cause changes in urinating such as:
- Urinate more often than usual.
- Pain, burning or stinging when urinating.
- Continuous feeling of having to urinate immediately, even shortly after going to urinate and even if the bladder is empty.
- Problems and trouble to get to urinate.
- The weak urinary flow without force.
Attention! It is possible that these symptoms are caused by the infection of the urinary tract. Calculus in the bladder or prostate enlargement (in men) are also among possible reasons.
If the symptoms as those mentioned below are observed, it is possible that they more probably suggest the bladder cancer, but the best choice is to undergo a medical exam to be carried out by an oncologist.
- Feeling the need to urinate, but not being able to pass urine.
- Acute pain on one side of the lumbar area.
- Bone pain.
- Loss of appetite as well as weight loss.
- Exhaustion, constant fatigue or weakness.
- Swelling of the feet.
We would like to highlight again that it is possible to have these symptoms and NOT have bladder cancer. As your symptoms or signs can be seen in many other conditions, it is always advisable to consult with medical professionals to ascertain whether a bladder tumor or any other condition causes these symptoms.
