Techniques – Treatments
We offer cancer treatments that allow greater well-being and lesser side effects. Our Center offers the most modern therapeutic techniques for different types of cancer, including ionizing radiation which is the specialty of the Radiation Oncology:
External radiotherapy using linear accelerators with the ability to perform a wide variety of techniques: Conformal 3D radiotherapy, IMRT, IGRT, VMAT, SBRT, etc.
Intraoperative radiotherapy
It is a very precise and fast radiotherapy treatment since it is delivered in a single fraction after surgical intervention on the tumor. In addition, it allows direct visualization of the bed that should be irradiated and it is not invasive: it leaves the adjacent healthy tissues out of the where it acts, targeting only the cancer cells.
Among other applications, HDR brachytherapy is usually used to fight against prostate cancer by combining it with external conformal radiation therapy and/or hormone therapy.
For the treatment of prostate cancer, we can also administer brachytherapy with I-125 seeds. A treatment that allows greater local radiation in a smaller area so that it does not damage healthy tissues.
Simple treatment using radioactive lenses placed in the eyes for a few days.
